PDGA Radio is Back!
Following a one year hiatus, PDGA Radio News will be making a triumphant return to PDGA.com beginning in March 2008 with a new host and format. PDGA Radio News is a forty week Internet program that delivers a 20 minute audio broadcast each week to PDGA members and other disc golf enthusiasts. Beginning in March 2008, listeners will find a new weekly show jam-packed with fast-paced, up to the minute, professionally produced content by disc golfer and radio personality, Steven Kuzenski (aka Steven James).
Steven began playing disc golf in 1996 in the Appleton, Wisconsin area while in high school. He went on to college at Winona State University (Winona, MN) where he graduated in 2006 with a Major in Mass Communications focused on Radio Broadcasting, and a Minor in Marketing. He began his broadcasting career by volunteering for the college radio station as an on-air announcer for two years. While still at the college station, he secured a part-time job for the local group of five stations, working various shifts. After an internship as a program director/morning announcer, Steven was hired full-time as the assistant news director and afternoon announcer for their Top 40/Hot AC station, which was the city's #1 rated station. Steven's experience at Winona Radio included just about everything possible, from producing commercials, play-by-play sports, interview shows, and serving as interim on-air operations manager.
You will be able to listen to the show anytime, and each show is archived so you can listen to past broadcasts too. All you need to hear the show is an Internet connection and a copy of either Windows Media Player or the Real Audio Player. PDGA Radio News streams over the Internet in low resolution, so you can listen uninterrupted regardless of how you connect to the Internet. Podcast users will find exactly what they're looking for too.
Businesses, individuals or tournaments that are interested in advertising on PDGA Radio in 2008 are asked to contact the PDGA Office at (706) 261-6342 for rates and details.

PDGA Online Tournament Registration
By: Jason Allind , TD IDGC Monthly
The PDGA is now offering online tournament registration services free of charge to all tournament directors in 2008! PDGA Signup www.pdgasignup.com, is designed to alleviate the hassles of the old stamp and envelope days and make it more convenient for players to register for PDGA sanctioned events. I am using the service for the IDGC monthly series here at the International Disc Golf Center, and it has proved to be a great resource, not only for the players but also for myself as a TD. On the 2008 tournament sanctioning agreement, TD's are given the option of signing up for this service. A great perk is that the service also includes a free web space to advertise your event at www.discgolfseries.com . This is a great amenity for smaller clubs and tournaments, who do not have or cannot afford their own website. The TD is able to easily post text and stats on the website without having to know HTML, and it integrates very well with the registration page. You are even able to post your tournament flyer, just like a virtual course message board. One thing that I found difficult when running events was receiving 75 checks in the mail, now the TD can set up the date to close the online registration, and will receive one payment in time for the event. Check out the new service by clicking on the links above and consider offering online registration for your event.
